MOWER TRIFECTA LAWN MOWER DEMO DERBY RULES 2024
General Info:
- Entry fee is $20.00 & must be paid day of the event prior to going through technical inspection.
- If unsure of a specific rule, send pics/ask questions via the track’s social media channels.
- Top 3 guaranteed payout regardless of number of entries: 1st $250.00, 2nd $150.00, 3rd $100.00.
- Six race series dates of 3/23, 4/27, 6/8, 6/22, 7/13 & 9/14.
Chassis:
- Front engine riding lawn mowers only. No home-built mowers. No zero turns.
- Decks/blades/deck belts must be removed.
- Max engine horsepower of 18. (Must be verified in tech) Engine must remain stock.
- Maximum height of mower is 36”.
- Clutch and/or footbrake must be in working condition. You may use a hand throttle.
- Changing of pulleys allowed.
- No altering of tires. No additional/aftermarket tire protections allowed.
- No frame reinforcements allowed except for foot and leg protection.
- All glass (head lights) must be removed. Spark plug and carburetor protections allowed.
- You must be able to start your mower while staying seated. Must demonstrate in tech.
Safety:
- You must weld/bolt in foot/leg protection using aluminum or steel material. If they fall off during competition, you will be automatically disqualified.
- If the gas tank and/or battery is in front of the motor, you must move it to between motor and driver or weld/bolt in metal protection around it. (No minimums to the additional protection)
- You shall secure the hood with bolts, welding or #9 safety wire. Rope will not be accepted.
- Numbers must be displayed on the hood with minimum 5” high numbers.
- Back protection bolted/welded in is permitted. Roll loop allowed but not required.
- Gas tank cannot be more than half full to begin the event.
Driver:
- Driver must be 18 years of age. Driver’s must submit an entry form. Forms available race day.
- All drivers and mowers must go through technical inspection before entering the competition.
- Helmet, long pants, gloves (doesn’t have to be racing style), long sleeve shirt required at a minimum. Neck braces recommended.
Race Procedure:
- No direct hitting of leg area will be permitted. Result of direct intentional contact will result in automatic disqualification. (T-boning another competitor full speed will result in being disqualified from event and all future lawn mower demo derby events.
- If any part of your body touches the ground once the event starts, you will be disqualified.
- Competition ends when there’s only one mower capable of moving.
- All other race procedures will be discussed on race day.
